The Last Templar

Posted in Books on December 28, 2006 by I'm-Pixel

I’m now reading “The Last Templar” by Raymond Khoury. It’s about the Knights Templar’s legacy and focuses on an encryption device created by the Templars. There was a opening event at a museum for a new display of ancient relics from the Vatican. 4 knights, dressed up in Templar armour and clothes raided the museum for the relics, most importantly the encryption device. The story then unfolds as an archaeologists who happens to be there when the knights raided the museum has an obsession to pick up the trail of the mysterious heist. Throw in an FBI agent, brutal murders and religion, you have yourself a pretty entertaining story. At least I think so. I’m just a sucker for books of fiction with Templars for theme.

I’m eyeing “The Templar Legacy” by Barry White.

Hot stone massage at Biomax in SS2, PJ

Posted in Health on December 28, 2006 by I'm-Pixel

I’ll be going for a hot stone massage that has been postponed for a few times now because of timing in my schedule and baby’s. It’s at this place in SS2, PJ called Biomax. Yep, the name sounds so tech orientated but let’s see how it is after the treatment. I’ll post the contact details after the session.

I got persuaded to buy a treatment package during a roadshow the company had a month ago in 1 Utama. The offer price for the session wasn’t too expensive. It’s RM89 for 2 hours.

I sincerely hope it’s good. Speaking of which, my back is acting up again. Sigh, if it’s not staring at the PC at work that contributes to my back aching it’s staring at the TV while playing the Xbox.

(Must finish Cameron Highlands and Singapore trip posts!)

When we arrived at the Lakehouse, we proceeded to the receptionist to check in. We were given ginger ale each as welcome drinks. Baby was busy registering us in this huge leatherbound book. When she was done, the recpetionist gave us a list of attractions to visit and briefed us on the times for meals in the hotel. Later, our luggage were carried to our room. when I walked into the room, I was impressed. So was baby. The room looks cozy and we had a four poster bed! The toilet was preasantly clean and cozy as well. There was coffee and tea making facilities and 1 nice arm chair to sit. Most of the furniture in the room were old but they are very well maintanined. We quickly took in the coziness of the room and went out for a spot of sightseeing.

Cameron Highlands

City roads to….

country roads.

We started for Cameron Highlands about 1 hour late after dilly dallying. We drove using baby’s car as mine hasn’t been serviced yet. The drive took close to 3 hours because yours truly did not speed. Most of the time travelling was taken up in the winding road up to the highlands. It would’ve been fun to drive up using a car with manual transmission but it’s ok, auto was just as fine.

On the way we saw lots of indigineous settlements and greens. It’s very refreshing to see all the green instead of grey and occassionally green.

We hit Ringlet soon and were trying to look for the entrance to the Lakehouse. It was quite easy to find and was further up at the end of Ringlet.

The next post will a short one on the Lakehouse.

Cameron Highlands post

I’m going to finally post this entry on my trip to Cameron Highlands with baby. We stayed in a “boutique” hotel called the Lakehouse. It has only 18 rooms apparently. I will split the post into several smaller posts.

Christmas Dinner

Mr Gobbles - Before

Mr Gobbles - After

My family have been having turkey every Christmas since I can remember. I think I’ve probably seen 20 odd turkeys on the dining table in my life.

This year’s turkey was nice. The meat was moist and tender. I remember once where the turkey was very dry making it hard to eat.

Earlier on, I wanted to help my mom prepare the turkey but she already did most of the preparation. I just helped mix up the stuffing and stuff the turkey (he has a name, he’s Mr Gobbles). It’s quite funny that my Mom said “bye-bye” to Mr Gobbles when I put him in the oven. Good thing she didn’t wave to him!

3 hours later, there was a nice plump turkey on our dining table!

It’s Christmas time and I’m a tad bit depressed

Posted in Life on December 24, 2006 by I'm-Pixel

I can’t help but feel a little depressed now. Everyone close to me seem to have plans. SY and EK are in Singapore. So is WS and M. BY and LL are singing carols in their church. That leaves me alone with nothing much to do later to greet Christmas.

I guess I’m just used to looking forward to an event on Christmas eve every year so far (Last year’s Christmas pot luck party at my place was fun :) )

I’m just feeling left out when everyone’s having fun and I’m feeling lonely.

This sucks…it’s such a lonely Christmas :(

So hot! I’m melting!
